The poor fireman in this short video is having quite the time trying to get his firehose under control. It even takes him down more than once. I am sure we have all experience this on a much less catastrophic level, maybe when you lost grip on your garden hose, or maybe when the sprinkler head suddenly became unattached. You probably not only got wet, but things around you got wet that were not the intended target. Whatever the case, the emphasis on the word “RUNAWAY” certainly led to multiple unintended consequences. When the item that becomes a “RUNAWAY” is your federal government, our Nation is in serious jeopardy. There is little likelihood of bringing anything under control that is a “RUNAWAY” by simple mind-control, or by ignoring it by believing the situation doesn’t exist. It will require a hands-on process, first recognizing something needs to be done, one in which you may get wet, but someone or some group must take action to bring that which is “RUNAWAY” back under control.
Our current government leadership in Washington D.C. seems to be allowing their firehose of issues to squirm, whip, and “RUNAWAY”, out of control. From one moment to the next, few in our Nation have any idea exactly what the target is, and in the process, multiple issues are being sprayed with unwanted, unfocused, even destructive attention. The minute we think there is really something being addressed “one way”, we learn there is not only a new focus, but we find out that the “one way” we thought was being pursued, is actually being re-directed to “another way”. The current occupant of the White House may say “X”, while an appointed director may say “Y”, and then the press secretary may say “Z”. This may happen over the space of one day, or over several months. Meanwhile, those within our Nation are being sprayed with contradictory statements, and have no idea what the targets are, and how they are to be handled.
This type of approach to governance is destructive. It is akin to the game “whack-a-mole”, where after one issue seems to be put down, another pops up, and often it might be an issue we once were told had already been resolved. Consider the example of the horrific method used in the current government’s retreat from Afghanistan. It may be off the minds of those in our current government, but it is a front-burner issue for those American’s still there, and our allies there who supported us, who are still being hunted down, and many are being killed. One can be assured that the method of retreat used will one day come back to haunt our Nation. Pretending an issue is resolved, does not resolve any issue. To “RUNAWAY” from the firehose will never bring it under control. It needs to be addressed forcefully, with resolve, to an acceptable conclusion where we as a Nation have fulfilled our commitments, and our duty to our own citizens and allies.
There is another grave danger to our Nation that is eating away at the core of our values. With a “RUNAWAY” governance, it is often assisted by letting go of that which keeps our Nation grounded to our Constitution and Bill of Rights. When any government official, let’s also include many of those in the corporate world and in mass media, let loose of morals and ethics, we as a Nation are not only devalued throughout the world, but the very soul of our Nation is being torn away as it were an onion being shed, one skin or layer at a time. Before long, if this is allowed to continue, our Nation will no longer be one to be admired for truth and justice but will be counted among hundreds of nations that have failed throughout the ages. The current occupant of the White House had said many times during the campaign that the fight was for the soul of our Nation. What was never made clear was to what end was that “soul” supposed to look like? This was a form of “projection”, an appeal couched in deception in the hopes that those who heard these words would rally to the call, not knowing that the “soul” being sought was one of darkness, sinister intent, and in fact evil. One cannot force upon another their form of morality, but it can be made difficult to resist. Surrendering to the overwhelming power means it is useless to resist. Subsequent compliance will over time create the loosening and bending of once stout, honest and true morals. Consider just a few ramifications of the downward trend in ethics. The rise in petty crimes, including “smash and grab” orgies, and car thefts. The rise in shootings, many leading to murder. While believing that reduced bail or limiting incarceration will solve a believed incarceration problem, we have only really expedited recidivism and more crimes, assaults, and murders. While believing we have corralled the “RUNAWAY” firehose, we only soon find that we are knocked down by it while being sprayed with the very thing that should be under our control, and that the surrounding elements, like business and people, are also negatively impacted.
When power and greed consume many thoughts, it is no wonder so many in this world are distraught. Many in our Nation simply want to “RUNWAY” and hide. This is another critical mistake that does nothing to bring about an acceptable resolution. At least the firefighter in the short video clip above is trying to do something. He has not turned tail and run! We cannot depend upon the hope that anything good will come out of something bad. By our Constitution and Bill of Rights, we have been given a unique power to control our own destinies. It is a mistake, and in fact a great shame, that many are too afraid to exercise that which is provided to us in this great Nation of ours, our voice and our actions. We alone have within each of us the ability and power to make change, to right wrongs, and to re-establish the proper course of this Nation of ours as set forth by those who sacrificed so much.
Do not be afraid to exercise your God given and constitutionally given rights. You do not have to run and jump on the whipping firehose nozzle. Start working your will upstream where the hose is controllable, then move ever so much closer to that which needs to be brought under control. Everyone can do this. Participate at your school boards and city councils. Speak to your neighbors. Plant or carry a sign. It takes no special talent, just the will to get involved. The “RUNAWAY FIREHOSE GOVERNANCE” will only be brought back under control once each one of us does our part, however small or insignificant it may seem to be.
What steps will you take today?
