Is The Worst Behind Us? Are There Dangers Ahead?

At the publishing of this blog, we have entered a new year. IS THE WORST BEHIND US? One of the worst years in our Nation’s history is behind us, but will things be better in 2022? We would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year, but we believe that will not come automatically, but will only happen when each one of us takes personal responsibility to do everything within our power to make it happen. In some respects, we believe we should host a wake party to put the horrific 2021 behind us, to bury it, and do our best to forget it. It will be one of the gravestones in our National archives we will hate to visit. Unfortunately, the graveyard of history must be reviewed from time-to-time to do our best to not repeat the failures of the past, but do everything we can to learn from our mistakes and missteps to move in a better direction, one that is more productive, healthier, cohesive, and will only build upon the tremendous efforts put forth by those who preceded us to ensure our Nation becomes stronger, better, to become “a more perfect Union” as described in our Constitution. We hate to be pessimists, but unfortunately, we feel that the German philosopher Georg Hegel (1770-1831) may have a better understanding of humanity when he said, “We learn from history, that we do not learn from history.”

Following are remarks made by a 28-year-old, future 16th President of the United States, while serving as a member of the Illinois House of Representatives on January 27, 1838: “In the great journal of things happening under the sun, we, the American People, find our account running, under date of the nineteenth century of the Christian era. We find ourselves in the peaceful possession, of the fairest portion of the earth, as regards extent of territory, fertility of soil, and salubrity of climate. We find ourselves under the government of a system of political institutions, conducing more essentially to the ends of civil and religious liberty, than any of which the history of former times tells us. We, when mounting the stage of existence, found ourselves the legal inheritors of these fundamental blessings. We toiled not in the acquirement or establishment of them – they are a legacy bequeathed us, by a once hardy, brave, and patriotic, but now lamented and departed race of ancestors. Theirs was the task (and nobly they performed it) to possess themselves, and through themselves, us, of this goodly land; and to uprear upon its hills and its valleys, a political edifice of liberty and equal rights; ’tis ours only, to transmit these, the former, unprofaned by the foot of an invader; the latter, undecayed by the lapse of time, and untorn by usurpation – to the latest generation that fate shall permit the world to know. This task of gratitude to our fathers, justice to ourselves, duty to posterity, and love for our species in general, all imperatively require us faithfully to perform. How, then, shall we perform it? At what point shall we expect the approach of danger? By what means shall we fortify against it? Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant, to step the Ocean, and crush us at a blow? Never! All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest; with a Buonaparte for a commander, could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a Trial of a thousand years. At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.” Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865)

You need to read the above paragraph a second time and do so slowly so that you can fully comprehend what President Lincoln was saying. As a quick review, he stated we have inherited a great National land, given to us not of our own doing. Our current duty is to preserve it and leave a continuing legacy. He finally stated that no force could ever overtake this land, except it be done by our own hand. It is the latter point that gives us pause and is of great concern. Over the last several decades, many in visible leadership positions, people in authority, those in positions of power, have allowed our Nation to be slowly invaded by others who seek to do us harm. We are not talking about the obvious, those perpetrating terrorist attacks (although that risk increases with the botched retreat from Afghanistan, and the failure to properly secure our southern border). We are talking about nation states making “investments” to curry industrial, corporate, athletic, and political favor. This “investment” takes many forms, usually involving an individual’s financial greed, as payments for “services rendered” or for future rendering of services. This “investment” can take other forms including sexual (honey pot) benefits, financial opportunities, and asset acquisition, just to name some obvious ones. So which nation states are a threat to our Nation? There are several, including North Korea and Russia, even though they are small in comparison to our Nation, they possess nuclear weapons and that makes them always a potential threat. They have also demonstrated their ability to be able to hack into our vital infrastructure computer systems causing disruption of normal services to our citizens. You might place Iran in that category, but so far, they have not developed nuclear capability and dependable ballistic missile means for deployment, although that may only be months, or a few short years away. The biggest threat to our Nation is the Chinese Communist Party of China. Over many decades China has made investments in our National structure, from assets, to personnel. China has greased the wheels of many within our government and been in bed with multiple NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations) supplying them with cash and personnel. They have infused many of our larger businesses and corporations with their own citizens. They have opened their national doors to these businesses, when in compliance with their demands for information, Intellectual Property, and control. Just as one example, Nike has now proclaimed their company to be a “brand of China and for China” (Nike CEO John Donahoe; June 25, 2021). No longer are many of these larger corporations aligned with patriotism to our Nation but have supplanted that quality for one of financial profit. They can no longer be touted as a “Rosie the Riveter” model (supporting our National effort in war) but should be considered in step with “Benedict the Arnold” (a traitor to our Union in the Revolutionary War). Their compliance with an opposing force makes them traitors to our Nation, and in doing so are subverting our great Nation, while impowering China. Lest many in our Nation wag our fingers at these companies, save some ridicule and scorn for yourselves if you buy products or use services from these companies, because you too have succumbed to the lure of cheaper products, often cheaper in more ways than just one. Do you not realize that many of these products are made using slave labor? All those who rail against any form of inequality or slavery in our Nation, should be ashamed when choosing to “look the other way” when it is to your benefit, for this is just another form of seeking personal gain over National patriotism, choosing to ignore what has been bequeathed to you at such great cost, your FREEDOM and LIBERTY. In purchasing or wearing products made or assembled in China, you are declaring unwittingly your support for communism, slavery, and the cancelling of free speech, FREEDOM and LIBERTY. Wake up America! China now has a larger navy (360 ships to our 297; navytimes.com; April 12, 2021), and many more personnel in their armed services (3.55 million; globalfirepower.com; March 3. 2021). The U.S. has 1.4 million personnel in our armed forces (statista.com; March 8, 2021). Bombs do not have to be dropped for it to be a war. We have been in an economic, social, and cyber war with China for years now. We did not declare it, but they did so quietly, insidiously. They also declared quietly a pandemic war upon the world that has killed and wounded millions.

If the threat of China doesn’t wake you up to the DANGERS AHEAD, maybe a quick glance at other cancers at work within our Nation’s borders will? The following efforts will be discussed and possibly pursued by the current government in Washington D.C. There will be talk of adding more “states” to our Nation, favoring the current ruling regime. There will be continued talk of adding more seats to SCOTUS (Supreme Court Of The United States), a process favoring a liberal agenda in an attempt to alter our Constitution and Bill of Rights. There will continue to be the constant threat to overturn the Senate filibuster, allowing a majority of one to control all decisions, rather than creating a need to achieve bi-partisan solutions. Religion and Conservatism will continue to be targeted by government agencies in order to minimize and neuter opposition by claiming them to be national terrorist threats. There will be moves to eliminate God from speech, and documents, in favor of atheistic, communistic doctrines. There will be continued efforts to allow non-citizens to vote, believing them to favor the party currently in power. There will be a continued push to make Vaccine Passports mandatory, requiring everyone to be in compliance with any number of injections the government chooses to dictate. These passports will expand to include tracking and monitoring of all travel and activities and be used to further erode FREEDOM and LIBERTY. These passports will be used to control those in opposition to the current government’s agenda. (See our blog on April 14, 2021, titled “VACCINE PASSPORT”). The current government will continue to pursue the printing of more money to be heralded as a needed stimulus package, keeping many from pursuing jobs which would add revenue to our government and spur commerce. Unless laws are passed and upheld, foreign money will continue to influence members of our government, corporations, academia, sports franchises, and media. There will continue to be foreign threats requiring the attention of our military, spreading it thin, while our military leaders continue to emphasize woke agendas and the pursuit of equity and inclusion. Voter integrity will continue to be blocked. Election laws will continue to be skirted and court challenges will continue to be rebuffed by partisan judges, or those judges unwilling to stand in the breach (see our blog on June 27, 2021, titled, “WHO WILL STAND IN THE BREACH”). There is little doubt the current occupant of the White House is cognitively compromised. The 25th Amendment to our Constitution may be activated, and it would be likely that the presidential candidate who ran with the slogan “Stronger Together”, could become Vice President, and then ultimately President. Soon, the unsustainable sugar high created by the infusion of free money to many of our Nation’s citizens will be depleted, and the reality of inflation will drastically reduce spending, business income, and government revenue.

ARE THERE DANGERS AHEAD? Absolutely! If Americans do not wake up to the threats, many we’ve identified above, our Nation as we now know it will be lost, and the FREEDOM and LIBERTY we currently enjoy will be gone for a long time to come, and maybe forever. There is hope, but it lies with each one who treasures our current Constitution and Bill of Rights. It will take more than just a belief in the foundation principles of our Nation, it will take action and involvement, the application of talents and abilities, the continued pursuit of truth, justice, and the application of righteous moralities. This will not be accomplished by leaving it for “someone else” to do, for that person never exists. It will be up to each one of us, taking personal responsibility, being accountable, not only for our actions today and tomorrow, but by being accountable to our posterity, and honoring the lives given in the decades before us who sacrificed so much more than most of us can ever imagine.

WILL YOU STAND WITH THE HEROES THAT HAVE PRECEEDED US? WILL THEY, AND OUR PRODIGY, FIND OUR EFFORTS WORTHY?
